Painting

You'll note the yellow I chose has a green cast to it. I like it. Maybe I'll pick up the green in some details.

This morning started out rainy and I decided to delay my departure for a few hours to see if the rain might break long enough to relieve of the need to dump the tanks in rain gear.

That gave me a chance to prime some more panelling in the kitchen. I was going to leave the dinette with it's original brown panelling, thinking it would be better looking like furniture. But I've come to loathe that darned panelling. I painted it! And the bathroom door too.

Wal-Mart Parking Lot in Tuscaloosa AL

Wal-Mart Supercenter in Tuscaloosa AL

Wal-Mart Supercenter Store #715, 1501 Skyland Blvd E, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405 - (205) 750-0823

This Wal-Mart is one of my favorite parking lots for overnight dry camping. There is good, level parking and access to lots of shopping and services useful to the traveler.

Something Useful Can Be Artful

A life, I believe - lived well and openly - with a certain sort of careful attention to form and function - creates art - or, at the very least, inspires it. I believe that art is contained in the ordinary events, that the small things we see and hear and learn everyday provide opportunities to explore parts of ourselves or our society in a way that can actually produce art. Whether it is a story you leave behind or one you take with you, I believe that any given situation is rich with opportunities to participate in the creation of something useful that can also be artful.
