- Sunday, March 6, 2011 - Bosque Birdwatchers RV Park, San Antonio NM
- Why is that ice loose in the freezer? Preliminary investigation failed to turn up any obvious reason, like no power to the fridge. Oh darn, we may be in for another lap in the barrel... Image: White-crowned Sparrow, Bosque Birdwatchers RV Park, San Antonio NM, March 5, 2011.
- Monday, March 7, 2011 - Bosque Birdwatchers RV Park, San Antonio NM
- Yup, refrigerator is dead. Image: Get a Grip, White-crowned Sparrow, Bosque Birdwatchers RV Park, San Antonio NM, March 5, 2011.
- Tuesday, March 8, 2011 - Bosque Birdwatchers RV Park, San Antonio NM
- What are my options? However I approach it this dead refrigerator is going to be a big deal. I have two choices - repair this one or replace it with a new one. Rebuilt cooling coils are available online for around $500.00. A new refrigerator online runs around $1,000 - $1,300 plus shipping. - Wednesday, March 9, 2011 - Bosque Birdwatchers RV Park, San Antonio NM
- It looks like I could get this refrigerator pulled out, rebuilt, and reinstalled for maybe $400 - $500 less than the cost of having a new one installed. But I'd have a 19 year old refrigerator for 2/3 the price of a new one... I'll get a new one. Image: On the Fence, White-crowned Sparrow, Bosque Birdwatchers RV Park, San Antonio NM, March 5, 2011.
- Friday, December 2, 2011 - LoW-HI RV Ranch, Deming NM
- It's cold enough this weekend that I need to run a couple electric heaters at night to be comfortable. The reserved sites with electric hookups are reserved for the next couple of nights and the unreserved sites are occupied here at Leasburg Dam State Park so off I go again, this time to Deming where there are three State Parks and several private RV parks to choose from. I chose the Low-HI RV Ranch where I stayed a while last December. There is a major cold snap rolling in with lows forecast in the mid teens and I really wanted to be sure I nabbed a site with electric hookups before it hits. Done. Let 'er rip. - My 2006 Road Trip
- This is a journal of my April 2006 road trip. I'll try to post entries as I move along and as I find internet access. These entries will be quick notes of things I want to remember and may not read too smoothly. I'll try to come back flesh them out a bit.
- Photography
- I've been a casual picture taker forever, as have most of us, but once I set off on my adventure living fulltime in my RV and traveling about, my interest in photography started to grow. I began to see stuff I wanted to capture. Eventually I landed in San Antonio NM and spent some time photographing the Sandhill Cranes wintering at the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. I was hooked.

Passing Time in Byzantium
..Byzantium has begun to look suspiciously like my hometown. It has the same people, the same houses, the same goings and comings. But I am a very wise child seeing things very differently. The activities and interests of adults mystify me. They appear senseless. It is like watching the TV with the sound off--and suddenly realizing how ridiculous people actually are.
I expect adults will in turn regard me as ridiculous. Actions people might accept in a child may not seem appropriate in a grandfather. I won't be distressed. I am looking forward to new heroes and new adventures. And if you ask me where I've been I'll say "out"; and if you ask me what I've been doing I'll say "nothing."
